Daniel's Literal Translation and Commentary

God's Justice vs. Your own Justice

"1Brothers, the certain desire of my heart and prayer to God for them is for salvation. 2For I testify to them, because they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3For being ignorant of God's justice, and their own seeking to establish, unto the justice of God they did not submit" (DLT: torahtimes.org, Romans 10:1-3).

justice :  The Greek term δικαιοσυνη here refers to divine justice.  The ignorance of divine justice is at two levels.  First God's justice is not accepting acquittal based on a finding of righteousness in one's legal account with God.  God only grants pardons.  Second, God provides Yeshua to satisfy the justice regarding the penalty of sin.  Yeshua paid the penalty.  The term δικαιοσυνη  spills over into "righteousness" only in the sense that we are being made righteous through the writing of Torah on our hearts by the Spirit.  So in this sense, it is also God's righteousness, to be completed in the day of His appearing.  (DLC: torahtimes.org, Rom. 10:1-3).
