Joshua

4And this is the matter over which Yehōshūa̒ had circumcised. Of all the people going out from Egypt, the males, the men of war, had died in the wilderness, on the way, in their going out from Egypt. 5Yea, being circumcised, they had been, all the people going out. And all the people, the ones born in the wilderness, on the way, in their going out from Egypt, had not been circumcised, 6because forty years the sons of Yisra’ēl had walked in the wilderness, until all the nation had spent the men of war going out from Egypt, which had not listened to the voice of Yăhwēh, in that Yăhwēh had sworn himself to them, not making see them the land which Yăhwēh had sworn himself to their fathers, to give to us, a land flowing milk and honey. 7And their sons, he made stand in their place, them Yehōshūa̒ had circumcised, because they had been uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way. 8Then it was as that they had completed with all the nation, to be circumcised, then they stayed in their places in the camp until their reviving. 9Then Yăhwēh said unto Yehōshū‘a, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from upon you.” Therefore, is called the name of that place Gilgal until this day.

10Then, the sons of Yisra’ēl encamped in Gilgal. Then they did the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month in the setting on the plains of Yeri̱ḥō. 11Then they ate from the product of the land in the day after the Passover, unleavened bread, and grain being roasted, on that same day. 12Then, the manna ceased in the day after, when they ate from the produce of the land. And there had not been any more for the sons of Yisra’ēl manna. Therefore, they ate from the comings of the land of Cena‘an in that year.

13Then it was, in being Yehōshū‘a by Yeri̱ḥō, then he lifted up his eyes. Then he looked. And behold, a man was standing at his front, and his sword was drawn in his hand. Then Yehōshū‘a walked unto him. Then he said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?”
