Daniel's Literal Translation and Commentary

The Resurrection of the Dead

"11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of faithfulness which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that  are committing [to Yeshua] on the road of uncircumcision, so that righteousness might be counted to them also." (DLT: torahtimes.org, Rom. 4:11).

Comment: Abraham was included in God's covenant before he received the sign of the covenant by God's grace.   Circumcision was therefore only a seal of what was already true.   Likewise, of Gentiles who commit to Yeshua while uncircumcised are saved, and they too will receive the sign of the covenant when God makes it plain to them when and where they are to obey this commandment.   As God overlooked the uncircumcision of the children of the rebellious in the wilderness, so also he will overlook the uncircumcision of the Gentiles in the nations because they are but mere children who do not understand their inheritance.   And if any would wish to be circumcised, then let them not do it because the Rabbis put it in front of them as necessary to be part of the chosen people.  For even in uncircumcision certain Israelites were still God's beloved and chosen people.
